Ola Electric slashed the prices of its S1 range by upto ₹25,000

Ola Electric price cut up to ₹25000

The electric scooter giant Ola Electric slashed the prices of its S1 range by up to ₹25,000. This deal will last till the end of February. Here are the revised prices of their electric scooter models:

  1. Ola S1X+: Previously priced at ₹1.10 lakh, it is now available for ₹85,000.
  2. Ola S1 Air: Previously priced at ₹1.20 lakh, it is now available for ₹1.05 lakh.
  3. Ola S1 Pro: Previously priced at ₹1.48 lakh, it is now available for ₹1.30 lakh.

Please note that these prices are ex-showroom rates and reflect the company’s efforts to make electric mobility more accessible to consumers. If you’re considering an electric scooter, this price reduction could be a great opportunity.

This move of Ola Electric also seems to be linked with the recent report in which Ola Electric is preparing for an IPO and has received certification for its second product under the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for the automobile and auto component industry. With this accreditation, the Ola S1 Pro and Ola S1 Air will be eligible for government subsidies under the Auto PLI plan for five years.

In connection with previous announcement earlier in January, where Ola Electric stated its commitment to Advancing electric vehicle adoption with the hashtag #EndICEAge, aiming to make EVs more affordable and accessible. As per company ” These reduced prices will bring its scooters in line with leading Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) scooters, providing customers with a compelling reason to choose an electric scooter.”

Earlier in January, Ola Electric had introduced a similar scheme, offering a 50 per cent discount on extended warranty and up to ₹2,000 exchange bonus for the S1 Air and S1 Pro models.

According to industry analysts, Ola Electric’s intention to pass on benefits to customers is a strategic move to increase access to electric mobility in the Indian market.

According to Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Mobility, Mr Uday Narang ”Sees this move as part of the broader industry trend towards a positive downward price trend as the electric vehicle market matures and strengthens its ecosystem, ultimately driving increased adoption in the country.”

Ola Electric market share in electric two wheeler segment

Ola Electric continues to lead the electric two-wheeler segment in India, achieving a record monthly sale of 32,160 units in January 2024. The runner-up position went to TVS Motor, which sold 15,181 scooters under its iQube brand.
